Muzaffer Ozak Efendi al-Jerrahi al-Halveti, r.a., was born in 1916; he passed into the Realm of Beauty in 1985.
By trade he was the owner of a bookstore for rare manuscripts and books, occupied the office of muezzin and imam, and preached, at several mosques in Istanbul.
Grand Sheikh of the Order between 1966 and 1985. He is responsible for the spreading of Sufism to a sector of the world that was unaware of its existence, mainly throughout North America and Europe.
Prolific author of several very important books, such as: Irshad, Unveiling of Love, The Garden of Dervishes, Adornments of the Hearts, and many others.
Also authored several Illahis (poems set to music). He was known for his regal presence, the powerful Dhikr ceremonies he lead, his good sense of humour, and his masterly dream interpretations, among many other beautiful character traits.
